The Beer Sheva Innovation Team operates as part of a global network of municipal innovation teams supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
The team helps the city and the municipality contend with urban challenges by creating tangible and agile solutions in a range of fields that will enhance the local residents' quality of life.
I-teams operates in the US, Canada, France, and Israel.

ABOUT US
The Beer Sheva i-team operates similarly to other i-teams in Israel and around the world. it is unique in its members' wide range of viewpoints and flat organizational structure.
CORE TEAM

In her previous job, Vered served as Deputy CEO of the Negev Development Authority and worked in implementing tools and models for regional economic development. She previously served as a senior project director at an international research institute and managed market research processes and economic potential for global commercial companies. Vered was born in Beer Sheva. She spends her spare time with her family and running.



Maayan is responsible for management of social projects. She started her professional career as the head of the social involvement section of the Ben Gurion University Student Union and subsequently worked at "Tovanot" where she managed participatory-based decision-making processes for government ministries. Maayan holds a Masters' Degree in Business Management from the Mandel Institute of Social Leadership at Ben Gurion University where she graduated with distinction. In recent years, she lives in the south and likes to spend her spare time travelling around Israel and cultivating her garden.

Tamar leads the work methodology of Human Centered Design. Tamar is a new immigrant from Brazil and joined us following four years study in New York and a period working with the Jersey City innovation team. Tamar likes travelling and music from around the world and is in an ongoing process to learn Hebrew.

Noam is an undergraduate student of Politics, Government and Education. Her i-team expertise is directing the knowledge management project as part of Shatil's "social change" program. Noam leads the "Zikaron BaSalon (Memories in the Living Room)" initiative in Beer Sheva and surrounding area and volunteers in the "Open Door" organization.

Kesem joined the team after having worked as an analyst and data analyzer at a Tel Aviv research institute. Together with her work on the i-team, she is writing her doctoral thesis in Humanities at Ben Gurion University.

Gili received her doctorate in sociology from Ben Gurion University and has researched social and spatial aspects of globalization processes in Israel. She brings to the team her experience in research and its translation into field work with civil society organizations and government. As part of "Shatil", she led the development and implementation of a community-economic development paradigm "Local Sustainable Development", and managed knowledge development processes with an emphasis on adapting global models to local arenas – both municipal and regional.

Dr. Gili Baruch Content and Methodology Consultant

Guy is a sociology doctor of Tel Aviv University and a researcher and lecturer in different academic institutions. His area of expertise is the connection between status, urban cities and identity. He was born in Beer Sheva and currently lives in Tel Aviv. Guy researched the middle class at both cities and described the way each city shapes the world of its residents. Guy brings to the team experience in planning and accompanying research and processing data into insights.

TEAM MEMBERS

Yakir manages projects in the fields of data, technology, assessment and evaluation. In the past, he led a teachers' forecasts project at the Ministry of Education's Planning and Strategy Division and initiated a volunteers' project called "A Lady with Shopping Baskets".
Yakir moved to Beer Sheva upon joining the i-team and spends his spare time maintaining a startup in the big data field, lecturing on information-based decision making and working out in the gym (although less than he would like).

Maayan has been a resident of Beer Sheva for the last eight years, leading social initiatives at university and around the city. She served on the national Students Association working with the Planning and Budget Committee of the Council for Higher Education, the Knesset, and government officials to promote changes in academic policy. For the last four years, Maayan has been teaching the course "On Sexual Violence and Healthy Sexuality."
